" biting the burning bullet to break bones "

pulling their massive coiling body from the water, lynn groaned softly, water dripping from their sun-heated scales, jaws spreading in a great yawn. turning their head as they heard a noise, they searched for kydobi, resting in the bloody river, "oh. kydobi.", they answered, taking the time to climb from the river, resuming their jaguar form for easier conversation.
sitting on the gravel of the beach of the river, they began to groom themselves, tongue scrounging over their fur, content for the time being. "I've been patrolling, it's a bad sense in the air, and I have a daughter to protect.", they answered him firmly, looking up at him, waiting for an answer.
After they had stumbled across Idyll, the dragon had seen less and less of kydobi, but perhaps they were also avoiding him. it was hard to tell for certain, who was avoiding who but considering he had come to them ... they both had been. they wouldn't admit easily that they were leaving the territory for longer and longer periods of time, seeking a freedom that the skies alone gave to them in this life.
they were attracted to idyll, they had found, much as they had been attracted to kydobi in the beginning. they were drawn by personality, and seeing their deceased mate's spirit around idyllfields, had alerted them to a potential there. they were afraid to miss the opportunity, they truly were. if they could have a chance at happiness again ... they would take it at almost any cost to themselves. they had received from kydobi his permission to move on from him, little did they know that he hadnt meant his words.
