// so some people wanted me to make a master post of what iota sees in other people's thoughts and how her telepathy works, so here we go!

— many of iota's telepathic thoughts come against her volition; they come to her, and she usually doesn't go digging for them. think of her as a "thought magnet" - she can sense the brain waves of others through her horns, and the thoughts transfer into her brain. she'll have to learn to control it as to only use it when absolutely necessary instead of letting it run on full blast at all times.

— as for what she sees, it usually varies. it can go from simple thoughts of others translated into words, or maybe a vision or dream that someone else is having; they're telepathically transmitted into iota's mind, again, through her horns. if it's a vision, it will flash before her eyes. otherwise, if it's just a thought, it will read in her own mind like it's a thought of her own, except with the voice of whomever's thoughts she's reading.

— for example, let's say someone is remembering a fond moment in their life and iota happens to pick it up. the vision of the memory will flash through her mind, along with whatever sensory details are associated with it (sight, touch, etc.). but it is a very temporary feeling, lasting only mere milliseconds.

— she can sense the thoughts of anyone nearby with her horns flowers (although at the time of writing this masterpost, she doesn't realize it's her horns that are picking up brain waves). this alerts her of their location, and could be useful in battle; though, if not in battle, she makes sure to ping the thoughts of whoever she picked up to let them know she's nearby so as to not scare them if she approaches.

— when receiving dreams, though, iota must learn to control oni (which is herself, really) so as to not cause nightmares by pinging into their dreams. it's an urge to "consume" off the intelligence of others, like a parasite. oni before only had iota's own dreams to leech off of, but now he can spread similar to a virus (as long as iota is in range of another's brain waves).

— since iota at the time of writing this can't really control what she can and cannot hear from others around her, she's resorted to isolation, mainly in her greenhouse and the library, since those are the only places she has that she can find peace and quiet.
