Asher's appearance is similar to cats of superstitious nature: his fur is jet black, which camouflages him under the night sky. Asher has a condition known as heterochromia: his right eye is an amber color while his left is a cyan color. He wears a small, white scarf around his neck so he can be detected in the night and to ease the souls of those who are superstitious.

Asher was a friend and loyal companion to one of the many "witches", named Kaisee, that would roam the port town of Koriko, who were tasked with the delivery of letters and packages to those around the town due to a lack of a proper mailing system. He traveled with his witch friend across town, accompanying her for many of her duties as a witch. Upon falling ill, though, the witch could no longer understand Asher, and due to this, Asher felt as though his former witch companion had been neglecting him. Growing depressed, he snuck away from his only friend in an attempt to find some place to soothe his soul. After having aborted his friendship with his old witch friend, the town of Koriko cleaned the area of witches, blaming them for problems that arose after Kaisee fell ill. Kaisee, however, remained in the hospital where she'd been taken care of, shielded from the problems of the outside world.

He can shapeshift into a crow at will in order to reach higher destinations or to travel long distances without the weariness of being on foot.

Milkyway's appearance is quite unique in that he is a form of spirit or, ghost, if you will, except he isn't the soul of a creature but instead the soul of a dying star manifested into a physical, sentient form. He is shaped similarly to that of a Russian blue cat, but the shape is the only part of the creature that retains form in Milkyway. His bones are made of stardust, and are visible through the glowing, translucent starry-like body that he has conjured so as to become a vessel. In the daytime, none can see Milkyway, as his source of light energy only comes from that of neighboring stars -- the sun's light energy is far too powerful for Milky to safely manifest his form, so he uses the light energy of nearby dying stars, galaxies and moons in order to keep his form. Once dusk swallows the sun and the stars in the sky become visible, Milkyway begins to take form.

Milkyway's origins are that of a celestial type. He was born into the constellation Ursa Minor as Calvera, a pulsar -- which had been previously a star. The former star, in its living form, was Milkyway himself, but the former star began to collapse on itself to form a pulsar, and the energy from the star was cast off. Upon centuries of the star's energy crashing into celestial objects, cosmic storms and other universal events, the countless organic compounds that the energy came across manifested into a type of sentient being -- an actual soul, if you will. Without any sort of shape, this soul traveled across the universe on a quest to learn as much as it possibly can about its surroundings in an attempt to become truly intelligent. This life force gradually was met with Earth's gravitational pull, and was as such pulled down to the surface and into BoB. Strangely, the form Milkyway chose to take upon reaching the surface was that of a cat, perhaps to disguise himself with the other cats that he would come in contact with, despite his rather alien appearance.

On the first day of Milkyway's earthen journey, he realized he could not be seen, as the sun's energy caused him to become transparent. As a result, Milkyway has resulted to becoming a nocturnal being, only waking up when stars begin to illuminate the sky to give him energy weak enough to take form once more.

It was hard to figure out where exactly Milky thought he would end up after blindly zooming through space some 100 light years away from Earth, yet he was willing to let his soul settle anywhere at this point. After having existed in this world for what seemed like billions of years, the restless celestial spirit just couldn't stay in one place after his formal vessel vanished, becoming something he wasn't familiar with. Dead.

What good was he to the Ursas anymore? His former celestial body launched his energy far into the reaches of the universe -- the form he created for himself now was but a mere fraction of the energy he once had. In fact, the energy that manifested into his cat-like form was scattered all across the universe, and the fraction of energy this form took was so microscopic it was as if it were a single anthill to the planet.

The stars lining his aural form glowed against the trunks of swampy trees in the night, his stardust bones having been cushioned by his dense, starry, translucent cloud of a body. Milky hadn't a single clue where he was, and his constant trekking across the planet was evidence of this. Nothing could tire the restless celestial body, yet that didn't mean he couldn't become bored.

Learning about the universe was hard work.

Hopefully, though, he would find somebody in these marshlands who could fill him in on where exactly he was -- and possibly much more about this world. And hopefully, he'd find this somebody by dawn -- or else he'd have to slumber until nightfall.
